Another Nazi gas chamber discovered

"Dr. Richard G. Macdonald is a retired podiatric surgeon living in Washington, Illinois. His sons, Richard and Philip, and daughter, Annie, encouraged him to pursue unanswered questions about the role played by the author’s father, Lt. Col. Hugh Macdonald, M.D., in the liberation of the Nazi concentration camp in Ebensee, Austria. Two years of research in the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, and the Holocaust museum and library in Ebensee showed that his father’s medical unit had been denied its rightful place in the historical record. Inside the Gates provides not only the true account, but also a proud son’s depiction of his father’s military record."

All very admirable, but Dr. MacDonald claims in 2010 book:
"KZ Ebensee had a gas chamber, but as far as could be learned it had never been used. One of the furnaces that were used was capable of holding eight bodies at a time and cremating them in two hours. No care was made to separate the dead from the living."

One of the "highlights" is that Hoess is still stated as killing 3 million. Auschwitz's official figure since 1990 has been 1.1 million. Maybe he killed the other 1.9 million in his spare time or something.

    1. Thanks for posting that. I've been awaiting this book and have ordered a copy today.

Unusual to see such a large Auschwitz death toll in the Press. It's like being back in the 1980s.
