Russian slave labourers at Auschwitz

These undated photographs of Russian Ostarbeiterinnen (female workers from the East) at an unspecified camp in Auschwitz (probably one in the Buna Works) featured among the documents submitted in defence (Exhibit 3, Doc. No. 3) of Hermann Schmitz at the Nuremberg I.G. Farben trial.

  1. Happy faces from Auschwitz. What I understand from Robert Jan van Pelt in his book Auschwitz, the camp was intended to be a agriculturist model camp and as base for colonists.
