Kurt Franz: "Believe me, I am innocent"

"In a letter written on January 3, 1976, Kurt Franz, who continually protested his innocence, strongly denied having been camp Commandant. He wrote: "I served in Treblinka with the military rank of a Oberscharführer of the Waffen-SS responsible exclusively only for the guard detachment and with the men for the guarding of the camp. An Oberscharführer is a Technical Sergeant and not an officer!" The letter is printed in no. 44 of the Historische Tatsachen (note 105) on p. 23. Kurt Franz, who was charged with participation in the murder of 300,139 Jews, had lived in Düsseldorf under his own name up to 1959. (A. Rückerl, NS-Vernichtungslager..., op. cit. (note 62), pp. 44f.); therefore he obviously had a good conscience and it had never occurred to him that he could be accused of anything! Only in 1993 was he released, a gravely ill and broken man, after decades of imprisonment."

  1. There is confusion about Treblinka. I remember there was an investigation by Richard Krege from Australia with ground radar. They said they didn´t find anything. But where is the data from that investigation?
One or two years ago Miss Sturdy-Colls, did another ground radar investigation. She pretends she found some huge pits in the Treblinka underground. Why there is no excavation of that pits, if there are some.

    1. Richard Krege declined to publish the results of his survey, as a special interest group was promising to ruin his professional and personal life if he did. Sort of what happened to Fred Leuchter.

We eagerly await the publishing of the results of Dr. Sturdy Colls' surveys at Treblinka II. She was never going to be allowed to do any real digging there, the excuse being the Jewish law about not disturbing Jewish graveyards (this law only stands if the Jews were buried with full rite, which clearly isn't the case here, see: Talmud: Oholoth 16 2-3; Baba Bathra 101b-102b; Nazir 64b-65b), but her non-invasive survey should show the exact location, shapes and depths of all graves at the relatively small site.

    2. Thanks for that. I didn´t know that about Krege. So let´s wait for the results of Dr. Sturdy Colls.
